What 'That dog won't hunt' means

The empty state appears when no listings match your search — here's how to broaden your way back to results.

That dog won't hunt. is BirdDog's empty state — nothing matched what you asked for. When a place search comes up empty but other inventory exists, the message appears as a banner — "No hunts in that area yet — but here's everything else." — with the wider catalog below it. When nothing matches at all, you get the full-page version with a Browse all listings button.

How to fix it

  1. Open Filters and click Clear all to drop every filter and start fresh.
  2. Widen your dates — open the search bar's When segment and pick a bigger window, or a flexible option like Any week.
  3. Zoom the map out or search a broader region.
  4. Remove a species pick — a different hunt in the same area might be worth it.

The marketplace is growing and new listings land regularly — if nothing matches today, a broader search or a check back next week usually turns something up.
