Claim your land

Claiming connects a parcel to your account so you can see its records, find grants, and list it for income. Start from the claim tool — search your parcels, pick the ones you own, and create an account at the moment you claim.

1. 1Open the claim tool and type an owner name, county, place, or address into the search bar. An owner name that spans states first asks you to narrow it (pick a state, then the owner within it); then the map zooms to matching parcels.
2. 2Click your parcel on the map (or in the results list) to select it — select several to claim them together, and watch the pinned claim bar total them up ("N selected · X acres").
3. 3Click Claim your land — if you're signed in the claim completes; if not, the Let's claim it step asks you to create a free account.
4. 4Choose Continue with Google, or enter your first name, last name, email, and a password (At least 8 characters), then click Create account & claim N parcels — the claim is recorded and the land score questions begin.
5. 5Answer the two question screens for your land score, or click Skip to my land to go straight to My land.

Prefer a classic search form? Use the "Prefer the form? Search by owner, state & county" link on the map, or open the form view directly — it searches by Owner name, State, and County with a Search parcels button. See How to search for your parcel by owner name.

If the search finds nothing

1. •Check the spelling of the owner name against the tax record.
2. •Try a neighboring county — parcels near county lines are sometimes filed next door.
3. •Watch for a "<address> is already claimed." message — the parcel may be on another account you own, so contact us.
