How-to • Outfitter
Import your existing outfitter website
Paste your outfitter URL and BirdDog reads your site, stages each hunt as a listing-wizard draft, and lets you review everything before anything publishes.
If you already run an outfitter website, onboarding can do the heavy lifting. From the welcome screen choose Already have a website? Import it instead, or pick the I already have listings elsewhere card on the method step and click Next.
- Enter your site in the Your website field and click Import my site — the button reads "Reading your site…" while the import runs (usually 30–60 seconds), with live progress listed below.
- Review what we found under "Here's what we found" — each hunt we extracted appears with its details so you can judge the mapping. Click Try another site to start over, or Re-scrape fresh if the result was served from a recent import.
- Click Continue to stage every hunt as a listing-wizard draft — the staging screen shows each hunt with a completeness bar and a Review & publish link that opens it in the wizard with species, packages, and pricing already filled in.
- Click Finish business setup to carry on with the manual onboarding steps — your site URL is pre-filled into the Website field on the basics step.
If you're not signed in, clicking Continue on the review first asks you to "Save N hunts to your account" — create the account there (Create account & stage my hunts) and staging resumes automatically.
We never publish without your review. Imported hunts are drafts until you open each one in the wizard and publish it yourself. Some sites block scrapers — if the import comes back empty, click No website handy? Continue manually to fill everything in by hand.
