Add land from within the app
The Add land dialog searches county records by landowner name, state, and county and claims the parcel — inline in the listing wizard and the listing editor.
The Add land dialog pulls a parcel out of county records and claims it without leaving what you're doing. You'll find it in the listing wizard at the land step and in the listing editor — anywhere you need to attach land you haven't claimed yet.
Step 1 — Open the dialog
- Click Add land when your parcel isn't listed — the dialog opens over the current page.
- Note the three required fields: Landowner name, State, and County (the county dropdown reads "Pick a state first" until you choose a state).
Step 2 — Search county records
- Type the landowner name exactly as it appears on the tax record into Landowner name.
- Pick the State, then the County, from the dropdowns.
- Click Search records — matching parcels load with their address, owner name, and acreage.
Step 3 — Claim the parcel
- Click one parcel in the results — the dialog claims one parcel at a time.
- Click Claim & use this land — the parcel is claimed to your account and attached to your listing in one motion.
- Click Cancel instead to close the dialog without claiming anything.
Need the map or a multi-parcel claim? After a search, click Expand this search — it carries your search into the full claim flow. If a parcel is already on your account, you'll see "That parcel is already claimed — pick it from your land list on the previous step."
