When will my refund arrive?
Refunds post to your original payment method within 5–10 business days — the timing depends on your bank.
Once a refund is issued — whether from a cancellation, a host cancellation, or a refund review — it goes back to your original payment method and typically posts within 5–10 business days. BirdDog issues the refund immediately on cancellation; the rest of the wait is your bank's processing time.
What affects the timing
- The refund is initiated the moment a cancellation is confirmed — it's not batched or delayed on our side.
- Your card-issuing bank then takes 5–10 business days to post the credit to your statement. Some banks are faster, some slower.
- Weekends and bank holidays don't count as business days, so add those in when you count.
Refunds go only to the original payment method. We can't route a refund to a different card or bank account, even if the original card is closed — in that case your bank will typically mail a check or apply the credit to your account balance.
If it's been more than 10 business days and you don't see the credit, contact your bank first with the refund reference, then contact us.
