Understanding charges and receipts
What's in the price breakdown, when your card is actually charged, and where to find your receipt.
Every request shows a full Price breakdown before you submit: the package or nightly rate, any add-ons and lodging, the Processing fee, any Taxes, and the Total.
When your card is charged
Checkout saves your card to the request — there's no charge and no authorization hold at that point. The first charge happens only when the host accepts, on the payment schedule shown at checkout (a deposit with the balance 30 days before the trip, or the full amount). If the host declines, your card is never charged.
Find your receipt
- Open My bookings and select the booking.
- Scroll to the receipt card to see the breakdown, the payment schedule, and every charge in the history — including its status and date.
The same fee appears as Processing fee in the checkout breakdown and Service fee on the post-booking receipt — one fee, two labels.
