Grant search: answering the questions
One question per step about your land, ownership, and goals — 17 steps, plus a conditional one your answers can unlock, and two optional ones.
After you pick a property, the grant search asks 17 questions — one per step, each with a Back and Continue button. Answer Yes to the financing question and an 18th step appears; two steps are optional. Progress is stored only when you click Save & exit — that draft resumes exactly where you left off.
The full question list
- "What is the primary use of your land?" — prefilled from the parcel's record when we can infer it.
- "How is your land ownership structured?" — individual, LLC, trust, partnership, corporation, etc.
- "Does your property include wetlands, waterways, or seasonal wet areas?"
- "Do you have forested land or standing timber?"
- "Are there streams, ponds, rivers, or other water features on your land?"
- "Is any of your land currently enrolled in a conservation program (CRP, EQIP, CSP, etc.)?"
- "Have you been farming or ranching for less than 10 years?"
- "Are you a U.S. military veteran or a person with a disability?"
- "Is any of your operation certified organic or transitioning to organic?"
- "Which types of programs are you most interested in?" (multi-select)
- "Which program categories should we include?" (multi-select)
- "When did you purchase this land?" — In the last 5 years, 5–10 years ago, or More than 10 years ago.
- "Are you interested in land or agriculture financing?"
- "Which financing options are you interested in?" — conditional: appears only if you answered Yes to financing.
- "When are you hoping to start applying?"
- "Do you currently have land or equipment insurance?" — optional.
- "Would you consider leasing your land?" — optional, multi-select.
On the optional steps, the Continue button reads Skip until you answer — skipping still produces matches, but answering improves them.
